Nitin Patil currently is Head – API R & D (Downstream and Peptides) at Biocon Limited. He has about 25 years of experience in process and product development in the pharmaceutical industry. At Biocon, he is responsible for development of peptides and fermentation based products and has developed immunosuppressants, anti-diabetes, anti-infectives, anti-obesity generics among others. He has got his B. Chem. Eng. Degree from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India and Ph. D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from University of Iowa, Iowa City. He is author/co-author of 9 scientific publications and has filed more than 20 patent applications.
