Laura Kennedy, Pharm.D., BCPS is a pharmacist and technical lead for Medicare Part B drug payment policy in the Division of Ambulatory Services (DAS) at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Laura has extensive experience providing technical assistance for Medicare Part B drug payment policies. She regularly engages with senior leaders, other components across CMS, and external stakeholders on a variety of key issues affecting Medicare drug payment and development of payment policies. Laura has been instrumental in implementing several key pieces of legislation including the Discarded Drug Refund Program. Prior to her role as technical lead, she was a pharmacist working on the quarterly ASP drug pricing files and other Part B drug policy issues. Laura’s background also includes several years’ experience as Senior Drug Information Analyst at the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) and as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at Winn Army Community Hospital in Fort Stewart, GA.
Laura holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Auburn University and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the Abilene Christian University. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA and a PGY2 drug information residency at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, GA.
