As a General Health Scientist, Captain Stacy Barley has served as a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) team lead for various drug groups such as opioids that pose a risk to the public. Some of her responsibilities include providing regulatory guidance while ensuring internal and external stakeholders maintain responsibility and accountability for adherence to REMS policies and regulations. She enjoys being a member of a team that reviews the safety mechanisms for drugs to decrease the amount of over-prescribing, abuse, and misuse; to ensure drug products are safe for the public. Captain Barley has worked at the FDA for over 16 years and has over 26 years of service as a Uniform Service member.
