Anita has 20 years of R&D experience and significant contributions towards the development of a wide portfolio of biosimilar products for advanced and emerging markets. She has held several leadership and advocacy roles across the biopharmaceutical industry and scientific community. She is on the USP Expert Panel 2020-25 for the development of Multi-Attribute Method (MAM) General Chapter.
In her current role as Head of Analytical Sciences in Biocon Biologics she oversees analytical strategies across the portfolio and is responsible to promote scientific excellence, drive innovation and mentor leadership in R&D. She is championing the implementation of MAM in portfolio development and the inclusion of predictive immunogenicity assays as part of streamlined biosimilar development. Prior to Biocon, she led teams in Lupin, Intas and Kashiv contributing towards CMC development, regulatory approvals, partnerships and joint-venture management.
She obtained her PhD degree in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, through merit scholarship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India and is an alumnus of the first cohort of WomenLift Health – India chapter
