Monday, October 21, 2024

10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Drug shortages can be a challenge for manufacturers, providers, and most importantly, patients. Though drug shortages are certainly not limited to generic markets, generic drugs appear particularly susceptible. While each drug shortage is unique, most stem from the increasing fragility and challenges to the long-term sustainability of the generic drug market. This panel will discuss the key drivers of shortages with a focus on the generic market, implications of those shortages to providers and patients, and potential policy proposals to ensure the long-term sustainability of the generic drug market.
